SwiftPikUp Delivery Insurance Coverage and Claims Policy
Overview
SwiftPikUp is committed to delivering excellent service and ensuring that our customers experience peace of mind with every delivery. To provide additional protection, we offer optional insurance coverage for items in transit. Customers who choose to request insurance coverage during the booking process will benefit from this added layer of security. This policy outlines the insurance coverage available and the procedure for making a claim in the event of loss, damage, or other issues related to a delivery.
Insurance Coverage
Insurance coverage is optional and applies only to items for which customers have explicitly opted into coverage when requesting a delivery. During the booking process, customers will be presented with the option to choose whether or not to purchase insurance coverage for their items.
Coverage applies to items that have been insured at the time of booking and includes protection against:
- Damage: If the item(s) are damaged during transit due to factors within SwiftPikUp’s control, such as mishandling or accidents, the item(s) may be eligible for compensation.
- Loss: In the unlikely event that an item is lost during transit, SwiftPikUp will cover the value of the lost item(s) as per the declared value at the time of shipment or the market value at the time of the incident.
- Theft: Coverage applies in cases where the item(s) are stolen under circumstances where SwiftPikUp is liable.
Please note that items not insured at the time of booking are not covered under this policy, and SwiftPikUp will not be responsible for any loss, damage, or theft.
Claims Process
In the event that an issue arises during or after delivery, the customer must report the incident within 6 hours from the time of delivery. Any claim filed after this 6-hour period will not be valid or considered for compensation. Claims can be reported directly through the SwiftPikUp mobile application.
Steps to File a Claim:
- Log into the SwiftPikUp mobile app and navigate to Customer Support.
- Select the order for which you wish to file a claim.
- Provide details of the issue, including photographs of the damaged or lost items (if applicable).
- Submit the claim for review.
Once the claim is submitted, SwiftPikUp’s Claims Associates will review the information and promptly get in touch with the customer to:
- Confirm the details of the claim.
- Guide the customer through any additional steps or documentation required.
- Investigate the incident thoroughly and ensure a fair resolution.
Exclusions and Limitations
SwiftPikUp’s insurance coverage does not extend to the following:
- Items prohibited by law: Any goods that are restricted, illegal, or prohibited for transport are not covered under our insurance policy.
- Improperly packaged items: If the item(s) are inadequately packaged or do not meet SwiftPikUp’s packaging standards, the customer assumes responsibility for any resulting damage.
- Time-sensitive deliveries: For items that require expedited delivery (e.g., perishables or time-sensitive materials), SwiftPikUp’s liability is limited in cases of delays, damages, or losses not caused by negligence.
- Claims filed after 6 hours of delivery: Any claim submitted beyond the 6-hour window from the time of delivery will be invalid.
- Non-insured items: Any items for which insurance coverage was not requested or purchased at the time of booking are not eligible for coverage.
Important Notes
- Value Declaration: For high-value items, customers are advised to declare the value at the time of booking the delivery to ensure that the appropriate coverage is applied. This will assist in processing claims efficiently if necessary.
- Resolution Time: SwiftPikUp strives to resolve claims promptly. The investigation process can take up to 14 business days depending on the complexity of the issue.
- Customer Responsibility: While SwiftPikUp provides insurance coverage for insured items, customers should exercise care when packaging items and ensuring they are fit for transport. SwiftPikUp is not responsible for damage due to external factors beyond our control.
